Womanship, Annapolis’ own and world-renowned sailing and power-boating school for and by women invites you to “Sail Yourself Safely Home”, Womanship’s hour-long interactive session to be featured at Baltimore Sail Fest in the Baltimore Convention Center January 23-27, 2008.

Scheduled daily during the Show, times for the sessions have been set to meet the varied time frames of participants from the Annapolis/Baltimore/DC metropolitan area as well as those attending from several hours north or south of the event: Thursday at 3:15, Friday at 12:45, Saturday at 1:00 and Sunday at 2:15.

Drawing from the 2-Day Sail Yourself Safely Home sessions Womanship conducts onboard in the home waters of yacht clubs, sailing associations, boat yards and marinas, Womanship staff and alums will guide participants through the 17 safety, control and emergency procedures they teach onboard to help hesitant sailors overcome their fears and develop both the skills and the confidence to get themselves and their crewmates safely and comfortably home under everyday boating conditions and if & when they are called upon to take charge in an emergency.

During regular Sail Fest hours, Wednesday 6-9 PM, Thursday and Friday

11 AM-9 PM, Saturday 10 AM-9 PM and Sunday 10 AM-6PM, Womanship will be available at Booth #1004 in the Sail Fest section of the Baltimore Boat Show to answer questions and provide help in choosing just the right Womanship course.

Having taught more than 65,000 students, ages 18-82, so far, from around the world, Womanship is in its 24th year of conducting LiveAboard and Daytime-Only Coursess using the boat and the sailing environment as its classroom. Courses sail from the home port of Annapolis, Maryland and from 15 other sailing centers around the world.

Currently plying the warmer waters of the Florida Keys and British Virgin Islands, Womanship cruising courses will return to Annapolis April 1st, Long Island Sound late May, New England and Vancouver and the Gulf Islands in June.

Womanship’s Sail & See Adventures introduce students to distant sailing horizons and piloting practices in the Greek Isles, Turkey, New Zealand and Ireland.

Womanship extends its hands-on, collaborative learning approach to Customized Courses for an individual couple, families, corporate and social groups. The Young Womanship program teaches class groups of 7th to 12th graders on board tall ships along New York’s Hudson River and on skipjacks on Chesapeake Bay.
